South Wales self storage firm Easystore has invested £250,000 in expanding their premises in Bridgend to include exterior self-storage units. The decision to build the new units was made to meet the local demands for such a facility in the Bridgend area.
Brendan Connies-Laing, Director of Easystore said: “Our drive-up units are truly state of the art. We have incorporated metered power supplies to every unit, fire protection systems, individual door alarms monitored via dual-com, Wi-Fi and unlimited 24 hour access.”
“There are so many potential uses for our units from vehicles to paperwork; anyone moving house or business premises looking for extra space is guaranteed to find a solution that suits them. Also, we have a number of customers that use our units as an extension of their business or home. The fundamental ethos of the company is centered around ease of use for the customer and the whole philosophy has developed from that premise.”
Easystore Self-Storage was established in 2002 and developed its first facility in Cardiff the following year; with the Bridgend facility opening in 2009. Mr Connies-Laing gained experience working within the self-storage industry in the USA during the 90’s and recognised the importance of access, control systems and in improving the self-storage customer experience.
“We have been absolutely overwhelmed and rather humbled by the reception our new units have received.” contines Connies-Laing. “Within the first two months they are 80% occupied and the feedback we have received has been hugely positive. We are already planning to build more .”

They offer exclusively ground floor units, insurance, VAT and 24 hour access in one simple price and they also bill customers on a monthly basis. Customers also have free access to the Easystore company van so that it’s easy for them to transport their possessions to and from the units.
