If your flat has brick walls – or are pretty reliable for hanging heavy items – then use this space to hang goods. Not just coats or more traditional items that you may hang… be creative with what you can hang from walls. Even if it’s just for decoration or practical purposes, making use of space on the walls not only makes sense, but it can also give your home a fantastic aesthetic appeal.

4. Think about the door

Storing items on the back of doors is a great idea, especially if it doesn’t compromise the opening and closing function. Shoes, clothes, butlery, spices, other food goods… doors are typically reliable – and in the right setting, they can keep things orderly and out of sight.
